CARDZTV Pumpkin Patch Linky Party

The air is getting cooler, leaves are changing on the trees, children are settled in school and it is time to visit the Pumpkin Patch in your area! We have two pumpkin patches in my area and every year it is so much fun to watch the little ones get so excited about picking out their pumpkin.

Our linky party challenge theme is to create anything that has to do with pumpkins! Mary recently created several fun fold card tutorials and I couldn't resist making one of the fun fold cards. I thought it turned out so cute!

This challenge starts today, October 11, 2014 and will run for two weeks. For more information on the particulars, you can check HERE!

Here is my fun project:

Howdy!

Happy Monday!  Did everyone have a great weekend?
I certainly did!
Well, let's see...what did I do?  Watched a couple of bloghops...made a few cards...
went...to...the...barn...
Did I say barn?  Oh! I did!

While my son is deployed, we are taking care of his horse, Grace.  Grace and Matt go back a long long way.  My son and Grace are best friends.  She grew up with him and "raised" him up to be the cowboy he is today.  So, I made this card to send to him with the picture shown above.

All cuts are from Cricut County Fair cartridge except the sun.  It is from Create a Critter.  The clouds are from a Fiskars Cloud punch.  Little precious chicken sitting on the fence is part of the cut but it was too small so I cut a larger one.  I sure hope my son likes it!

Here is Matt with Ali right before he left

Hope you guys have a great day!!!

Hello Friend!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I have been W-A-Y too lazy today!  It must be the Lazy Days of Summer!

I have recently discovered 4 inch by 4 inch cards. They are perfect to jot down a quick note to send to a friend to let them know that you are thinking of them.  I made several of the cards like the one shown above. The other great thing about this size card is that it helps you to use up those "scrap" papers that you have left over from other projects.  All of the papers above including the butterfly image came from the scrap paper drawer.
Recipe
Butterfly cut at 2.75 inches from Create A Critter
Cardstock and background papers from scrap paper drawer
Sentiment "Hello Friend" from Cardztv Stamps
Dew Drops from The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Jewels are available in 8 colors at the Royal Shoppe
Purple Stickles

Sparkling Birthday Wishes

Happy Tuesday my friends and welcome to the beginning of another work week!  Bah, or should I say...Blah Humbug!

I have SO MANY FRIENDS who have birthdays during the month of May!!!  Especially the end of May!  So, I decided to make a very cheerful "sparkling" card for a friend of mine the just loves bling.

I included with this card a bottle of "sparkling" non-alcohol wine (it really tastes like grape juice with club soda added) wrapped in a decorated wine bag.  The wine bag is hot pink and yellow and I thought this cute giraffe would be perfect!

Here is the recipe:

A2 size card, teal blue card base
background mat 4 by 5 1/4; papers by K& Co.
yellow checkered border strip cut at 1 3/4 by 5 1/4
Giraffe cut at 2.75 inches from Create A Critter cartridge

The sentiment, "Sparkling Birthday Wishes" is from The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Shoppe and is on the stamp set that is called "The Queen's Birthday".  Check out The Queen's amazing stamps by clicking on the link above.

I hope everyone has a chance to get in your craft room or craft area to help relieve the stress of an exhausting day.    Have a great week!

So, how do you like my card?  Smile!  This A2 size card was cut at 4 1/4 by 11 and folded in half to make it 4 1/4 by 5 1/2.  "Smile" was cut from the Create A Critter cartridge at 2 inches.  Sun was cut from the same cartridge at 1 3/4 inches.

Dog Days

Have you ever challenged someone just for fun? My new friend, SusanP and I live in separate states but have become crafty sisters as we are both on a Design Team together.

I "challenged" her, last Monday, to make a card with a sun on it.  We have a mutual friend that has not been feeling well and decided to send her a card.  I know it will not help her circumstances but hope it will make her smile.

What is cuter than a puppy dog?  The dog was cut from the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge at 2.75 inches.  Sun cut from the same cartridge at 1.75 inches.  Background mat for this A2 size card is from the DCWV Pet Mat Stack.

The sentiment, "Dog Days", is from the Cardz TV Stamps Barks and Bones Stamp set from Cardztv.  Mary's stamps are amazing!

What are you going to do for a friend today?

Just For Fun....Let's Play!

My friend, Suzanne, got a Cricut Expression for Christmas.  She came to my house and we "played in the craft room" and she made five adorable cards.

In celebration of her recent purchase, I made her the card above.  The recipe is as follows:

Yellow card is from Michaels...pack of A6 size cards purchased on sale for 99 cents
Background mat from DCWV Pet Stack cut at 4.5 by 6.0 and layered on top of card
Green strip resembling grass cut at 1 by 6 and torn at top, then inked with green chalk ink and adhered to bottom of card

Create A Critter Cartridge:

Doghouse from page 35 cut at 3 3/4 inches
Terrier from page 34 cut at 2 1/4 inches
Dogfood bowl at 1 1/2 inches, "food" embossed with Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder
Grass next to doghouse from page 44 (shift key accessory) cut at 1/2 inch (cut five of them)
Grass in front of doghouse from page 45 (shift key accessory) cut at 3/4 inch (cut two of them and popped up on foam tape)
Phrase "Let's Play" from page 40 cut at 1 1/2 inches

All solid colored papers are from Recollections

The envelope is an A6 size envelope made using the Martha Stewart Scoreboard
Sentiment Woof! from Cardztv Barks and Bones stamp set and stamped on the heart on the doghouse

I hope I did not forget anything, Suzanne!  You can copy and paste this and look at your card to help you learn.  I also spent many hours on Youtube watching Mary (Cardztv), Robyn (MyPinkStamper....she is robynstamps on YT) and Pausedreamenjoy (Janis) who is northrose42 on Youtube.

After reviewing this post, I realize how easy it is going to be for me to purchase Suzanne's birthday gift which is in May.

Let the fun begin!

Suzanne, let the fun begin!

Warm Winter Wishes!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Did you get to spend some time in your craft room over the weekend?
I sure did!

As you are aware, I am a Design Team member of the Cardztv Stamps Design Team, and I have been having so much fun creating with Mary's Home For Christmas Stamp Set!  This set is amazing!  The stamps are not only for Christmas.  Check out the card I made listed below.

Card base is 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" (A2 size) card using Recollections paper.  I embossed the card using the Cuttlebug with the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder.  The white snow background paper was cut freestyle.  Ribbon is from my stash.

These cute little penguins were cut from the Create A Critter cartridge at 1 inch.  Their little scarves are all glittered up with Stickles.

Sentiment, "Warm Winter Wishes!" is from the Home For Christmas Stamp Set.

You can check out the stamp set along with the other stamps sets here.

Hope everyone has a fabulous day today!

Tree card

In celebration of fall, I decided to make several tree cards.  Janis over at PauseDreamEnjoy recently had a weekly "Tree Card Series" which inspired me to make some tree cards for fall.  I just love the fall season....can you tell?

This cute little A2 size card was cut at 4 inches from the Create A Critter cartridge.  I also cut some extra leaves.  I have absolutely no idea what paper packs these papers came from...just pulled them from the scraps pile.  My scraps pile is three twelve by twelve drawers and I am trying to use them up.

If you get a chance, check out Janis' tree series.

Simply Crafts November Challenge

This is my submission for my good friend, Pam's, and her good friend, Glora's, new challenge blog, SIMPLY CRAFTS CHALLENGE. Please come play along. This is FUN!

The challenge asks us to make any project using the turkey cut from the Create A Critter Cricut cartridge or, if you do not have a Cricut, or this cartridge you can use a similar cut from another cut.  Although I cut this turkey at 3 3/4 inches...forgot about how TALL his hat would make him!  Whew!  I think he turned out pretty cute!
  • Create A Critter for Turkey cut @ 3 3/4"
  • A2 size card
  • Card base is Recollections Kraft Card Stock
  • All background papers from Recollections pack
  • Cream Background mat cut @ 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
  • Rust colored background cut @ 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Green colored background cut @ 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Rocky border on bottom hand cut @ 1" x 4" and embossed with Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles folder.
  • Critter's hat embossed with Diamond Plate Cuttlebug folder.
  • Wings embossed with Tiny Bubbles Cuttlebug folder.
  • Orange feathers embossed with Victoria Cuttlebug folder and edges rolled up with fingers.
  • Sentiment "Let's Talk Turkey" from Mary's CardzTV Stamps "Thankful for You" stamp set (shown below)

For some reason (unknown to me), I have not used the Create A Critter cartridge more than 5 times since I have owned it. Thank you, PAM, for using this cut for the challenge! I now realize why this cartridge is so popular.

Have an awesome day! Lynn

A Happy Hello

Happy Saturday everyone!  I am sending you a Happy Hello!

I just love fall....wood burning fireplaces, autumn leaves changing colors, milder temperatures....and lower electric bills! It has been so hot in my state that fall is a welcome change.

This A2 size card was made from scraps of paper that were on my desk.  I have been working on my son's photo album and my desk was a mess!  Instead of throwing all the scraps of paper out, I was able to make five (yes, five) cards from the "stuff" on my desk.

The squirrel was cut from the Create A Critter cartridge at 3.5 inches.  Card base is from Recollections Craft Paper...all other papers are from Die Cuts with a View cardstock.  The little gold leaf rhinestone was purchased from the Michael's bins.

Hope you have a great Saturday and have an opportunity to play in your craft room today!
