Mini Album Blog Hop

Hello my crafty friends!  Today is Happy Wednesday and a few friends decided to have a mini album blog hop just for fun!!  Woo Hoo!  We will each be showcasing mini albums that we have made and I hope this gives each of you lots of cool ideas when making a mini album.

The blog hop starts at Mary's blog.  If you would like to start at the beginning, click HERE.  You should have arrived here from JANIS' blog.  I know she has made a super cute mini!!!  Janis is so talented!

Here are pictures of the mini album that I made.  I purchased a mini album kit from Gabrielle Beck in 2009 off of her Etsy store and modifed it to fit my topic.  It is so nice to have papers, embellishments, brads, buttons, and chipboard already selected and ready to go in one easy kit.  Gabrielle's store is not on Etsy anymore but you can search "mini album kits" if you would like to find one to make.

Here is the mini album I made for this hop.  I made this mini album as a gift to my son, Matt, who is currently serving in the U.S. Army.  I will present this album as a gift to him when he returns.

Project Details to Create Nifty Fifty Birthday Accordion Album

Thank you all so much for the sweet comments about the birthday mini album I made. Some of you asked for detailed information on how I made it so that you can make one too. Well, ask and you shall receive. Here you go!

First of all, please know that all pattern papers, stickers, and alpha-stickers came from Echo Park's HAPPY DAYS Paper Collection Kit.

Second, every sentiment stamp used is from Mary's CARDZ TV STAMPS set "MAKE A WISH".

The Accordion Mini Album was created by cutting black and white pattern paper to an 8 1/2" x 11" size. Then I cut this in half @ 5 1/2". This gave me 2 equally sized strips measuring 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". I scored and folded each strip in half @ 4 1/4". If you didn't do anything else from here, you will see that what you've got now are two A2 size cards.  But we aren't done yet....

Glue the 2 strips together making the score lines fold in a mountain and valley pattern. This will give you three  5 1/2" x 4 1/4" sections on the front and back.

I'll take you through each section and give you the details on how it was created.

FRONT COVER

Blue chicken wire background paper cut
@ 4" x 5 1/4".
Rock n roll can be cut from any Cricut cart @ 1" or you can use the stickers included in this paper collection kit.
The Jukebox was cut from NIFTY FIFTIES p. 56 cut
@ 3 1/4".

I stamped "Nifty Fifty!" in red using Mary's CARDZ TV STAMP set MAKE A WISH (shown above). The sentiment banner mat was hand cut.

PAGE TWO

White cardstock cut @ 3 3/4" x 5".
The border at the top, banners, "special" arrow, and "sweet" bottle cap are all stickers from the Paper Collection kit.
"50" can be cut from any Cricut cartridge @ 1 1/2" or you can use the number stickers that comes in the Paper Collection kit.
"Birthday Boy" from Mary's MAKE A WISH stamp set.
The red and white cardstock at the bottom was cut to fit flush to the bottom.

PAGE THREE

Red cardstock cut @ 4" x 5 1/4".
Newspaper print (from Collection Kit) cut
@  3 3/4" x 4".
The strip at the bottom is the reverse side of the newspaper print cut
@ 3 3/4" x 1".
Sundae from NIFTY FIFTIES cart p. 41 cut
@ 3 1/2".

The "glass" of this cut was dry embossed with the Cuttlebug and Divine Swirls folder.
Stickles "Crystal" were used on glass for a frosty look.
The pink rim of the glass was embossed with spots and dots folder.
"It's your day!" stamped in red with Mary's MAKE A WISH set. I then used the Stampin' Up Large scallop oval to punch out the sentiment and add it to the bottom.

BACK PAGE FOUR

White cardstock cut @ 4" x 5 1/2".
The border and banner stickers are from the Collection Kit.
Shows cut from NIFTY FIFTIES cart p. 64 cut
@ 3 1/2".

Background for shoes mat dry embossed with Cuttlebug & Swiss Dots folder.
"Party time!" from Mary's MAKE A WISH set.

BACK PAGE FIVE

Red cardstock cut @ 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
Bottle cap paper (from Collection kit)
cut @ 4" x 5 1/4".
Black cardstock cut @ 3 3/4" x 4 7/8".
Red dotted paper with white journaling section is from the Paper Collection kit.
Happy Birthday and Kevin are all stickers from the Paper Collection kit as well as the cake.
"Eat Cake!" from Mary's MAKE A WISH set.

BACK PAGE SIX

Black cardstock used to cut frame. It's actually a frame cut from STAND AND SALUTE p. 47 cut @ 4" with the Blackout feature.
The red cardstock and cellophane (from packaging from any supplies) were both freehand cut to fit the frame.
The newspaper journaling piece is from the Paper Collection kit.
I adhered the cellophane on 3 sides leaving the top open so I could stick in this fifty dollar bill. (Sorry, the money is NOT part of the Paper Collection kit. LOL)

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask when leaving a comment. Also, so that I can answer you, make sure you also leave your email address in your comment.
