Splash!

Happy Thursday everyone!  One of my dear friends is going to be spending her vacation in the awesome state of Florida soon.  The weather in Florida this time of year is absolutely wonderful.  Florida has some very beautiful beaches and I can just imagine the snow birds venturing down there for some warm days and relaxation.

I wonder if she will see a mermaid?  Remember the movie..."Splash" with Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah?  Great light hearted comedy!

This A2 size card was made using Everyday Paper Dolls for the mermaid cut at 3 inches, lighthouse and sea gulls cut from the Lifes A Beach cartridge and the turtle was from....whom...anyone's guess?  I can't remember!

The sentiment "Splash" is from Mary at Cardztv's stamp set called Fun in the Sun!  It is a great stamp set for vacation and summer!

Cannot wait to hear about my friend's adventures when she returns!

Safe travels, my friend!

CardzTV Spring Blog Hop

Welcome to Cardz TV Stamps Spring Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from Kate @ Scrappers Creative Corner.  If you've just stumbled upon my blog today (THANKS!), go to Mary's CARDZ TV blog to start at the beginning!

This blog hop will run today, March 24 to midnight Sunday, March 25th. The Blog Candy WINNER will be announced the following Monday, March 26th over at Mary's CARDZ TV blog.  Mary will be giving 2 sets of CTV Stamps of the winner's choice for blog candy! 2 SETS! OF THE WINNER'S CHOICE!  WOW!!! You can check out all of Mary's stamp sets at CARDZ TV STAMPS or by CLICKING HERE.

Here is my  project for this hop:

Isn't this just the cutest little bunny?  It is a pre-colored digital stamp from Doodle Pantry and is called Snuffles.  I used Stampin Up cardstock in Chocolate Chip as the base card.  The background that is behind the bunny is from the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridges and is cut at 3 1/2 inches for the base cut and shadow cut.  I dry embossed the blue mat using the Sizzix Floral embossing folder.  The flower beside the sentiment is from K & Company.

The sentiment is from Mary's Cardz TV Stamps "Easter Punnies" set.

And what is a blog hop without a giveaway?  I am giving, to one lucky winner selected by random.org, an ATG Holder as shown below.  It will be unfinished so that you can paint and decorate it to match your craft room.

I have two holders, one for photo safe tape, and one for "general purpose".  They really save so much room on your craft table.  All you have to do is become a follower and leave me some comment love!  Easy peasy.

Hope you guys enjoy our hop!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Your next stop is Amanda.  She has made an awesome project and I can't wait for you to see it!

A Note of Encouragement

Happy Friday everyone!
Since the weather is supposed to be nice in most States this weekend, I hope many of you get a chance to get outside and enjoy the spring weather.  The month of March is the time where most of the birds migrate from Mexico to the United States and I cannot wait for the hummingbirds to arrive.

I notice a cute little brown sparrow building a nest inside a bird house that we have hanging on the back porch.  It made me wonder how many miles these little birds have to fly to arrive to their summer home.

Hence, the above card is.....SUPER BIRD!  lol

Bird is cut at 1 3/4 inches using 3 Birds on Parade.  All papers are from my scraps.  Wing was embossed with the Tiny Bubbles Cuttlebug Embossing folder.  I inked everything....and of course, what is a super bird without Stickles?  Flower embellishment is from the bottom of a drawer.  It was laying there STUCK...fell off of something so I recycled it.

Have a great day everyone!  Don't forget to check back tomorrow for Mary at Cardztv's Spring Blog Hop.

Friends

Who is in the mood to cut out some cute bunnies?  I am!  I am!  I thought this background paper was so cute for a spring card and had so much fun making this card.  Bunny was cut from the Create a Critter cartridge at 3 1/2 inches.  Basket cut from Doodlecharms cartridge at 1 1/2 inches.  Word "Friends" cut at 1 1/2 inches.

Hope you guys have an awesome "sunshine" day!

If Friends were Flowers...I'd Pick You!

Happy Spring everyone!  The U.S. has certainly had a wild winter....and a wild spring.  All these thunderstorms, tornadoes...weather warnings!  I decided to make some spring cards so I cut four flowers and flower pots at 4 inches using the Everyday Pop Up Cards cricut cartridge.  All papers used were from my paper scraps.  I am really trying to use them up.

The sentiment  is from Mary at Cardztv Stamp set called "Think Spring".

Hope everyone has an awesome day!

Paper Playtime Challenge #70

Happy Spring and Happy Monday!

It is time for our "Say It With Sentiments  Challenge over at Paper Playtime.  Make a project for the guys! For my project, I chose to make a card for a friend who was recently injured.

Isn't this just the cutest?  The tractor is from the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge and is cut at 3 1/4 inches.  And guess what?  The tractor is on an Action Wobble!  How fun is that!  My husband started laughing when I wobbled the tractor.  The sun was cut from the Create A Critter cartridge at 3 1/4 inches.
All papers used were from my stash.  The sentiment "Pullin' for you" is from Pink by Design's "Country Living" stamp set.  I purchased this stamp set a few years ago.

Our prize for the challenge is a $15.00 gift certificate to CROP STOP.

All you have to do to be eligible to win:
1) Be a FOLLOWER of Paper Playtime
2) Submit a NEW Project within our theme (no back links)

Come on down to the barn yard and play!

Hmmmm....Kids!

This is not a craft related post.  As you can tell, the picture depicts a young adult (my son) laying on the floor of the living room.  He is laying in front of the fireplace watching a movie from the TV that is on the mantle above the fireplace.

How in the WORLD can he watch a movie in this position for two hours?  Youth!  If I stayed in this position, I would be having neck surgery the following week!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

52 Tags in 2012 Week #11

It is time for our weekly 52 Tags in 2012 Design Team Challenge sponsored by Janis at Pause Dream Enjoy!!

Our theme this week is to make a tag with the primary color of green.  When I think of the color green, I always think of spring.  The trees get little green buds on them, ground starts turning green with grass, weeds...wildflowers start sprouting green leaves and flowers.  Here come the Irises, Tulips, Roses...and hummingbirds with their little green heads come to visit!

I love my tag and I know you can hardly see it because of the super busy background paper but I love all the "bloomin" words on the paper!

If you get a chance, hop on over to Janis' blog and join in the fun with us!

CardzTV Ch#7 Let's Get Sketchy!

Hello and welcome to Cardztv Challenge #7!  Mary has challenged us to make a card for any occasion using the following sketch:

  • Doesn't this sound like fun?

I decided to use some Stampin Up Designer Series Paper for my card.  Since we can use any colors we like...I used all Stampin Up products.  This paper is called Everyday Enchantment and I think it turned out nicely.

For the sentiment, I used Mary's Cardztv "Easter Blessings" Stamp set.  You can check out her amazing stamps at Cardztv Stamps.

    "Easter Blessings"

Venture over the Mary's blog and play along with us.  The challenge is for the 16th, 17th and 18th.  On March 19th, Mary will select a winner of the Cardztv Stamp set (of your choice) to one lucky winner who submits a project!

I cannot wait to see what you create! It was really fun to make this card using this sketch.  Come on and play with us!

 Have a happy sunshine day!

Your SUN thing special!

Your SUNthing Special!  Isn't that just the cutest sentiment?  Mary over at Cardztv has launched some amazing new Spring, Summer, Easter, and "Punny" sets that are just adorable!  I want every single one!

I was in the mood to play with the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge.  I have met a new friend.  His name is Caleb and I think he is about seven years old.  His wonderful Mom, Schell, has created Caleb his very own blog and it is called KIDS FOR CARDS.  Caleb has already made a few videos on YouTube and he is a rising star!

I made this card with Caleb in mind.  I am sure Caleb loves WORMS!  Eek!

Worm, leaf and circle were cut at 2 1/4 inches from the Boys Will Be Boys Cricut Cartridge. Background paper is from Crate Paper  Neighborhood Paper Collection Kit.  And here is a picture of the Fun In The Sun
stamp set.

If you get a chance, check out Mary's new stamps at cardztvstamps.blogspot.com.

Have a great day!

52 Tags in 2012 Challenge #10

Janis over at PauseDreamEnjoy.blogspot.com has a tag challenge every Friday.  It is called 52 Tags in 2012. It is such a fun challenge.  The theme this week is to make a tag about your most recent vacation or a future vacation you plan to go to.  Since I have not had a vacation in many years...I decided to make a tag of my visit to College Station, Texas to celebrate my son's college graduation in 2009.  We stayed in a nice hotel, ate at great restaurants and celebrated the graduation ceremony.

Layout Series

My Cover Page

Billy and I in high school; he came into my life 30 years later

Billy was a jockey and rode racehorses for many years

Hello my friends!  I am sure many of you have made resolutions for this year that you hope you can fulfill and complete.  I am no exception to always having great plans at the beginning of every year and losing sight of those goals within a few months.  One of my goals this year is to keep some type of journal expressing all the things that I am grateful for.  Since it is difficult for me to write, I decided to journal my gratitude through pictures that was self explanatory.  It took me awhile to figure out how I was going to make this happen.

Initially I thought I would purchase one of those smash books that is the current rave...but when I saw how small they were....I decided to make a 12 by 12 album.  I have not purchased the album yet, but it will definitely be "cutesy"!

To aid me in "staying the course and going the distance", I determined that I would start a Layout Series....I have discovered that if I have a deadline of sorts that I am more inclined to want to keep at it....

I really enjoy making layouts and when I got back into crafting in 2009...my intention was to create layouts for my son's as-yet-unfinished baby album.  Then, I discovered YouTube, Blogger, Facebook, Design Teams....and my son's album is still "one" of my projects!

Hope you enjoy this series.

What would we do without friends?

I am the luckiest person in the world.  I have the best crafty friends.  As some of you know, I have a neurological disorder that makes it difficult for me to use my hands.  Some days they work reasonably well, some days they do not.  One of the hardest things for me to do is grip ANYTHING.  Major frustration!  That is why I love pre-colored digital images so much.
Imagine my surprise when I recently received some goodie boxes recently from Theresa (The Scrapbooking Queen) and Janis (PauseDreamEnjoy).  Theresa colored some digital images and sent them to me with lots of other items to make it easier to craft.  Janis sent me some labels so that I would be able to stamp a sentiment on the label and place it on the card.
The above digital image is an example of one that Theresa colored and sent to me.  Isn't he cute!  The mat he is adhered to is one of the one that Janis sent me.
Thank you so much, ladies, for being so awesome!  I have been having so much fun with my goodies!

Spring has sprung!

Spring has sprung!  Here comes the wind....sunny days....warm, mild temperatures!  My favorite time of year is spring.  Everything is reborn.

To celebrate I made this cute card.  Hope you are having nice sunny days as well.

52 Tags in 2012 Week #9

Hello!  I am so happy to announce that I have been selected to be on the 52 Tags in 2012 Design Team sponsored by Janis at Pause Dream Enjoy!!

Woo Hoo!  I am so excited!  I love tags!  Thank you, Janis for this amazing opportunity to share my side of life with all of you!

The theme this week is KITES! Use a KITE die cut, sticker, stamp, or drawing on the front of your tag. On the back write whatever you want about what is going on in your life right now. Or maybe write about a time you remember either flying a kite or watching some kites soar.

My tag is cut at five and a half inches using Tags, Bags, Boxes & More and I used Stampin Up cardstock in Chocolate Chip for the base tag.  Then, I cut a light blue tag and a cream color tag at 5 and a half inches using scrap paper from my stash. I embossed the light blue tag with the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls Embossing Folder.  Then,   I cut the two tags at an angle and adhered them to the brown tag.
The grass is from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and is cut in various sizes from 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch.  I trimmed them and glued them to the tag and trimmed off any excess with my Tim Holtz Scissors.
The cute adorable girl (me when I was little!) was cut from the Paper Doll DressUp cartridge at 3 1/2 inches using the blackout feature so that I could stamp her face with a Peachy Keen Everyday Face Assortment stamp.
The kite was cut at 3 inches from the Pop Up Neighborhood cartridge.  It is Layer 1 and Layer 2 on page 29 of the handbook.  I do not know if any of you have looked at this cartridge...it has a lot of nice accessory images on it.
The sentiment, "Celebrate Spring!" is from Mary at CARDZ TV STAMPS.

I really had a lot of fun making this tag!

Come on over to  Pause Dream Enjoy  and submit your tag! Or, you can submit it at the bottom of this post - whichever is easier for you because it will show up here and on Pause Dream Enjoy. (Oh the internet is a magical place, isn't it? LOL)
