Dance in the Rain, The Scrapbooking Queen

Happy Wednesday Everyone!  This is Lynn from Bootsandblingtime.   Today I am the Featured Designer as a member of The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Stamp Design Team.

Here is my card:

So how many of you have seen purple clouds?  I have!  I have!  I was driving through the state of New Mexico a few years ago and the sun was shining...skies were blue...but off to the right there was a HUGE purplish cloud in the sky.  I stopped the car to get a closer look...and noticed it was rotating in a circular motion!  Uh oh!  I got in my car and took off.....and heard a BANG...and another BANG....and then lots of BANGS as softball size hail hammered my car.  I stopped the car and got in the back seat...the hail was so big it punched holes right through the windshield and windows.  And, yes...it totaled my car.  It was the scariest thing....I mean SCARY!

The sentiment was just perfect for this card....after the storm passed and I received my check for the totaled car....I went straight to the dealer and bought a Cadillac Escalade!  I sure did "dance" when I got home in my new car!

This stamp set is called "Royal Garden".  You can check out all of The Queen's amazing stamps HERE.

Catch A Wave!

My friends, JANIS and SUSAN and I decided to challenge each other again!  Such a wonderful way to craft with my friends although we all live in separate states.

So the challenge was my idea....well...sort of.  I have been bitten by the summertime bug.  During the summer, I think of lightening bugs, sunshine, green grass, hot summer breezes and watermelon.  I also think of all those people who are deciding where they are going to go on vacation this year before school starts in late August.

So....my suggestion was....Make a card using the colors of the ocean.  If you think about it...that would cover a wide variety of colors to choose from.  There is sand, green seas, blue seas, white frothy waves, seaweed, coral, and all kinds of fish and mammals...sea shells...and jellyfish.

Here is the card I created:

The background paper was the idea for the card.  It has bright, tropical colors with surf boards in bright colors inserted throughout the paper.  The waves were cut from the Creative Memories Traveler cartridge along with the surf board.  The sentiment, "Splash!" is from Mary's Fun in the Sun stamp set.

All of Mary's stamp sets are available HERE.

Why don't you challenge someone?  It is so much fun!  Have a crafty afternoon!

Cardztv Challenge No. 11, Day Three

Today is the last day of Challenge No. 11, so it is not too late to enter our challenge!  You have until midnight, Eastern Time, to enter this challenge to be eligible to win one set of Cardztv's Stamps...winner's choice!  Mary will select a winner via random.org tomorrow and announce the lucky winner!

This challenge is easy.........ANYTHING GOES!!!

Here is my card:

I used a bunch of scraps to make this card!  This card measures 4 1/4 by 4 1/4 using Recollections Cream cardstock to make the base.  The background mat is from the Lost and Found Paper Pack (180 sheets) and measures 4 1/8 by 4 1/8.  All of the edges were inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink.  The floral pattern paper is also from the Lost and Found Paper Stack and was cut and hand torn, then inked around the edges.  The flower in the middle of the card and other small flowers are leftovers from various K&Company embellishments.  The lace is leftover as well and the scrap measured perfectly across the card!

The sentiment, "Hello FRIEND" is from the Good Friend stamp set.

I find myself using this stamp set over and over!  You can check out all of Mary's stamp sets HERE.

I hope you have a great day today.  I just love your sweet sunny comments!

Fun Challenges

If you are looking for Cardztv Challenge, Day Two, click HERE.

Hello everyone!  I have two awesome friends, Janis and Susan, who love to craft as much as I do.  We are always "challenging" each other....and it really makes it fun.  Today, Susan and Janis decided to challenge each other to make a card to enter in some challenges currently going on in Blogland and they invited me to join in.

To see Janis' post, look HERE.

To see Susan's post, look HERE.

Here is the card I made:

This card was fun and super easy to make.  The background paper already has the jars with bugs in the jars...so I added a blue dragonfly that is an epoxy sticker.  The sun is from the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge and is cut at 1 1/2 inches in both shadow and base cut.  The base cut of the sun is embossed with the Cuttlebug Polka Dot embossing folder.  The sentiment, "Great Catch" is from a stamp set I purchased a few years ago.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Challenge No. 97...Anything Goes
   http://2sisterschallengeblog.blogspot.com/2012/06/challenge-97-anything-goes.html
Week No. 160, Any Die Will Do
   http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/2012/06/week-160-any-die-will-do.html
Challenge No. 137, Something Yellow
   http://www.totallygorjuss.blogspot.com/2012/06/challenge-137-something-yellow.html

I cannot wait to see what Susan and Janis come up with!

CardzTV Challenge No. 11, Day Two

Hi Everyone!

Today is Day Two of the CardzTV's Challenge No. 11....and ANYTHING GOES!  You can make a card, altered item, mini album....anything you would like to show us.....and, Mary will give away, to one lucky winner selected via Random.org, a Cardztv Stamp Set of winner's choice!  How awesome is that!

To celebrate Independence Day, I decided to make a card for my son to thank him for his service to our country.

This card took less than an hour to make from start to finish.  How easy is that?  The sentiment, "You are my Hero!" is from Mary's stamp set called "It's All about YOU".

This set is so versatile!  You can check out all of Mary's stamp sets HERE.  If you get a chance or have not already done so...you can check out all of my Design Team Sisters cards at Mary's Blog HERE.

Have a great weekend!

Cardztv Challenge #11

Hello my bloggy, crafty...super talented friends!  It is time for another CARDZTV Challenge!  Woo Hoo!  The theme for this challenge is....wait for it....Anything Goes!  The challenge will begin today and end at midnight on Sunday.  Mary will select one winner through random.org and announce the winner on Monday.  She is giving away one set of CARDZTV Stamps!

Since the month of June is classified as the first "days" of Summer, I decided to make a card with a beach theme.  I would love to go to the beach!

I colored the mermaid  with plain BIC markers....what?  No Copic markers?  Well....maybe one.  Just one.  Her face and body is colored with the E00 Copic marker.  The rest is BIC!  I added freckles to her cute cheeks....added Glossy Accents to her eyes so they would shine!

The anchor is a Martha Stewart punch that I found in the clearance bins at Michael's.  The chain is a recycled necklace....and the sentiment is from CARDZTV's Fun in the Sun stamp set.

This is one of my favorite sets because it is so versatile!  Perfect for summer and little notes to send to friends.  You can check out all of Mary's stamp sets HERE.

I hope you get a chance to play along with us!  You might just win one of Mary's awesome stamp sets!

Hello Friend!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I have been W-A-Y too lazy today!  It must be the Lazy Days of Summer!

I have recently discovered 4 inch by 4 inch cards. They are perfect to jot down a quick note to send to a friend to let them know that you are thinking of them.  I made several of the cards like the one shown above. The other great thing about this size card is that it helps you to use up those "scrap" papers that you have left over from other projects.  All of the papers above including the butterfly image came from the scrap paper drawer.
Recipe
Butterfly cut at 2.75 inches from Create A Critter
Cardstock and background papers from scrap paper drawer
Sentiment "Hello Friend" from Cardztv Stamps
Dew Drops from The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Jewels are available in 8 colors at the Royal Shoppe
Purple Stickles

Mary at Cardztv has a wide variety of stamp sets for sale.  You can review her stamp sets HERE.

Have a great day!

Just A Royal Note

I belong to a pen pal group for crafters.  We send each other cards periodically and I can't begin to tell you how much these cards have enriched my life.  I made several of the cards listed above to send to my pals.  The teacup is on the Once Upon A Princess cartridge and it was cut at 2 3/4 inches.  Background mat is from Stampin Up.

The sentiment and cute light pink dew drops are from The Scrapbooking Queen's ROYAL SHOPPE.

This stamp set is one of my favorites.  I just love the variety of unusual saying on this set.  Enjoy...and have a great day!

A Bouquet of Thoughts

How is everyone this fine day?  Don't you just love my card shown above?  I wish I had made it under better circumstances.  The is a major fire going on in New Mexico called the Little Bear Fire.  Little Bear is the name of the mountain range where the fire began.  Lightening started the fire and it spread down toward the Alto/Nogal/Ruidoso area.  Right now, it is 40% contained.  To date, more than 38000 acres have burned and approximately 275 homes.

A very dear friend of mine, Ev, unfortunately lost her home in the fire.  She lost everything.  All that is left is ashes.  In her subdivision, over 90 homes and outbuilding were lost.

The Scrapbooking Queen's sentiment from the Royal Garden set, was the perfect sentiment for this card.  I reviewed this amazing stamp set and created the card from the sentiment.  My friend is currently staying with friends in Ruidoso so I am hopeful this card will let her know how much we care.

The bouquet was cut at 3 1/4 inches using the Freshly Picked cartridge.  The green background paper was sent to me by my dear friend, Susan P.  The dew drops and the sentiment are products that are sold in the ROYAL SHOPPE.  Here is a picture of this amazing stamp set.

I urge each and every one of you to count your blessings.  This wildfire made me realize how many things I take for granted.   Have a great weekend everyone!

You Are My Hero

So how is everyone this fine hot day?  One more day and most of you will have the week end to craft!

It seems that everyone has been making masculine cards lately...hmmm...I wonder why?  Could it be that Father's Day is this Sunday?  I had already make my Father's Day card for hubby...but still have masculine/boy cards on my brain!

This adorable...funny....card ...well...I think it is hilarious!  Love that moustache!  Ole' Mr. Magoo is cut from the Cricut Lite Bump in the Night cartridge at 3 3/4 inches...and put on...what?  AN ACTION WOBBLE????  Yes!  You can find Action Wobbles at The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Shoppe.  They are so much fun to use!

The sentiment "You are my HERO!" is from Mary at CARDZTV stamps.  This stamp set is called "All About You."

The inside of the card is blank right now.  Don't know if I am going to use this for a Father's Day card or a Birthday card.

Have a great day!

The Scrapbooking Queen's Featured Designer Post

Happy Wednesday Everyone!  I have been selected to be the Featured Designer for The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Stamps.  I chose to make a card featuring the Royal Garden Stamp Set.

Here is my card:

I started with an 8 inch by 4 inch piece of cardstock and folded it in half to make a 4 inch by 4 inch card.  The blue background paper was cut at 3.75 by 3.75 inches and layered on top of the card base.  The super cute butterfly was cut at 2.5 inches from the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge.  Border on the bottom of the card is paper that was leftover from the butterfly cut.  The sentiment is from the stamp set listed above.

I just love how this card came together so quickly.  This stamp set is going to be one of my favorites.  You can purchase this set and all of The Scrapbooking Queen's stamps and goodies HERE.

Hope you have a great day!
