Summer Vacation

For those folks with children of school age.....school is just around the corner.  I went to Big Lots today to find parents buying school supplies.  School supplies.  Really?  One woman had six kids. SIX!  How in the world does one afford school supplies for six kids?

Fuel prices are rising daily in anticipation of the last summer vacation.  When my son was in school, we always went on vacation the first two weeks in August to beat the summer heat.  My son's favorite part of vacation was going to the beach or to the lake.

Recipe
4 inch by 4 inch card in blue cardstock
lime green background mat cut at 3 7/8 by 3 7/8
orange background mat cut at 3.75 by 3.75
blue cloud mat cut at 3.5 by 3.5
sailboat and wave cut from ??? cartridge at 2.75 inches
(yes, I can't remember the cartridge...)

What are you going to do for summer vacation?  I can hear the waves crashing on the shore....that would be my idea of a perfect vacation...the beach!

  1. this is adorable!! our school doesn't start until after Labor Day so all this hype about going back to school isn't affecting us yet:-)

  2. What a fun, summery card! Love the sailboat! It does seem that school starts back earlier and earlier each year.

  4. Beautiful. Iove the papers and colors. If I could go for a week of summer vacation right now...where would I want to go?. Hhmmm... let's see... Alaska would be nice to walk the trails in the cool temps...camping in the mountains and doing the tourist shopping thing would be fun. I like the beach, but the intense heat is not joyous. I have no idea where I'd like too go. Anywhere with Tom and Bonnie will do.
