Cardztv Stamp Challenge Day Two
Good morning my friends! Welcome to Mary's CARDZTV STAMPS Anything Goes! Challenge! This is the second day of the challenge which includes some of the new Design Team members of Cardztv Stamps! I really enjoy being a part of this awesome team since its inception and Mary is just the sweetest person in the world!
Challenge Theme: ANYTHING GOES!!
Challenge Begins: Right Now!!! actually Friday, July 27th at 12:01 am
Challenge Ends: Thursday, August 2nd at midnight Eastern Time
Winner Announcement: Friday, August 3rd at CARDZTV, (selected by random.org)
Prize: One set of Cardztv Stamps!
For my project, I chose to make a set of 4 by 4 cards with matching envelopes. I posted two of these cards earlier this week and chose to post the 3rd card today in the set. I have also made a box and lid to match and cannot wait to show you the "entire" package of 4 by 4 cards tomorrow!
These cards are for a very special friend who has special needs. She is always sending me cards in the mail. When she writes me a note, she tells her Mom what she want to say and her Mom lightly writes the message. Kristin then "traces" over the letters with a pencil. Kristin turned 25 this year and is a very special lady to me. I have known her since the day she was born. I think she will love this little card set.
I used the Cardztv "Fun in the Sun" stamp set for all of the cards. Mary has created the best stamp sets!

I Miss You Already
Leaving Texas to Fort Sill, Oklahoma
Can we go too?
This is not my usual "What card have I made today" post. My son took some vacation time from his job as a soldier in the United States Army to come to Texas to see family and friends. Tomorrow, he will undergo extensive oral dental surgery at Fort Sill and will remain on sick leave for 4 or 5 days to recuperate. It makes me feel terrible that I can't be there to hold his hand and reassure him. At 25 years of age, he is a little too old for that but I could tell that he is a little apprehensive about the surgery. I am sure the Army will take good care of him....but at the same time, I feel guilty that he has to go through this experience alone.
So, my question of the day is this:
As mothers, at what age do we "let go" and stop worrying about our children? Stop giving advice? Learn to listen and keep our mouth shut? As a mother of only one child....how do I stop wanting to protect him from everything? Do mothers with more than one child feel the sadness and anguish that I am feeling now? My answer: probably......it is our job! lol Our job, as mothers, is to raise them up in the way they should go....and they will not depart from it. I have done my job. I could not be prouder of my son who is kind, compassionate, giving, affectionate, financially disciplined, an over-achiever (like me), loyal and ambitious. He also can walk into a room and in five minutes or less, the room explodes in messiness. You can always tell where he is or what he is doing.....just follow the trail. lol
I just love it when he comes to see me. We have such a bond with each other and everything is so easy.
I absolutely hate it when he leaves because I do not like the extreme sadness I feel as I watch him drive away, and, with a smile on my face so he can't see the sadness..........wondering when I will see him again.
My last words today were "Don't forget to call me when you get there." His response, "You know I will forget but I know in exactly five hours from now you will be calling me repeatedly until I answer the phone."
My son knows me so well.

Keep on Swimming!
If you are looking for PDE 52 Tags in 2012 Challenge #29 click here.
Hello Welcome to .....another hot day! Hot weather reminds me of
boat rides
white water rafting
tubing down the Llano River
(don't forget the beer)
and watching horse races
in Fredericksburg
In celebration of summer...I also thought of Dorie. What does Dorie do when it is hot?
Here is the answer:
She keeps on swimming! ha ha ha! I just played a joke on you! Did it make you smile?
This awesome sentiment reminded me of Dorie. You can check out this stamp set and other products of Mary at Cardztv here. Have a great Saturday.....and keep on Swimming!

PDE 52 Tags in 2012 Challenge #29
Hi Everyone! Today is "Challenge" day over at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges and if you would like to see my Design Team Sisters magical creations, click HERE! The theme for this week is "What is your favorite summer treat?"
Janis will also have the winner of Challenge #28 on her post so make sure you check it out! You can also get lots of great inspiration for summer treats! I like to see what everyone's favorite treat is during the hot summer days.
My Dad served in the military when I was a child so he was gone most of the time. But when he was home, he would take us "to town" in the old pick up truck to the local drugstore and buy us sundaes. I remember my sister and I sitting on the tailgate while Dad drove the old gravel back roads to town and we would sing songs all the way to the drug store. Back in those days, we would ride in the back of the pickup or on the tailgate.
I chose to use the Cricut cartridge "Nifty Fifties" for the sundae...it is cut at 2.75 inches. I glittered the cherry and the strawberry sauce above the glass. The sentiment, "I love summer" is from a Studio G stamp set I purchased a few years ago. The tag measures 5 inches and is cut from the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge. That old drug store had the best soda fountain! The ice cream was homemade...and the glasses were always cold and frosty. No styrofoam cups and "prepared mix" ice cream...this was the real deal and I sure miss it!
Our sponsor for this week's prize is a $5 gift certificate at Ginger Snap Scraps! Woo Hoo! There are lots of goodies available so be sure to check it out HERE!

Fun in the Sun!
Hello my Crafty friends! Today is going to be an awesome day....time to stay the course and work on reorganizing my craft room! I decided to take a break yesterday and make this simple card:
It is a four inch by four inch card....scrap papers for cardstock and image. The die cut is from the "Just A Note" cartridge and it is cut at 2.75 inches. I just love these four by four cards!
The sentiment, "Lazy days of SUMMER" is from Cardztv's Fun in the Sun Stamp set. You can check out all of her amazing stamps and other products for sale HERE.

Stinkin' Cute Apple card
Hello Everyone!
Happy Tuesday!
I have been working on my craft room trying to reorganize it and condense the Cricut cartridge storage from 12 shelves to seven photo albums. It has been a slow, tedious process but I am finished! Yahoo! Now I am in the process of organizing my paper packs, paper pads, cardstock and mat pads.
I decided to take a break and made this card to send to a friend. I just love this image from the Kate's ABC's cartridge.
I hope everyone has a fantastic day today!

PauseDreamEnjoy Challenge
TO SEE MY FEATURED DESIGNER POST FOR THE SCRAPBOOKING QUEEN, CLICK HERE.
Hi Everyone! Janis over at PauseDreamEnjoy has a weekly challenge with 52 Questions....one for every week of the year. The theme for this week's challenge is "Sunset". Instead of using the colors of a sunset, I chose to make a card of a sunset.
I was born in Arizona which is desert country. The state has the most beautiful red mountains, desert rock, and cactus. Here is my project:
I have been reorganizing all of my Cricut Cartridges by removing them from the boxes and putting them in photo boxes in alphabetical order. As I reorganized them, I looked through each handbook and discovered die cuts that I have not noticed before. I feel like I have just been on a huge shopping trip with Ebay!
This sunset cut is from the Yee Haw! cartridge and is cut at 4 inches. The sentiment, "Enjoy the gifts of nature" is from The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Garden Stamp Set. You can check out her amazing stamps and other products available for sale HERE.
Check out Janis' challenge blog and make a project! She has weekly prizes and entering challenges is so much fun!

Paper Playtime Challenge #78
Hello Everyone! It is time for the Delicious Die Cuts challenge over at PAPERPLAYTIME!
In celebration of Independence Day, the challenge is to make a project using the colors of red, white, and blue!
We have an awesome sponsor for this challenge! Ginger Snap Scraps is giving away a $10 gift card to use in her store. This store has a little of everything! You can check out her amazing products HERE!
I have ordered several products from her store and she ships products immediately! I received my order in three days!
Here is my card for this challenge:
I used A CHILD'S YEAR Cricut cartridge for this cute image in both shadow and base cut. I cut the image at 3 1/2 inches. The background mat is from the Martha Stewart Seasonal Paper Pack. I really love Martha Stewart paper. The sentiment, "Happy Fourth" is from the military stamp set that My Pink Stamper has for sale. I think I purchased is from Hallmark Scrapbook.
Hope you guys get a chance to submit a project using red, white and blue as your main colors!
