Something Different

Hobby Lobby recently had a 50 per cent off sale on frames and shadow boxes.  I purchased two 8 by 8 shadow boxes and decided to decorate the inside of the shadow box with a summer theme for one of the box frames and a fall scene for the other one.  My craft room is bright and cheerful and is decorated in soft yellow, pink, and a light sage green.  I also have a day bed in the craft room for guests.  The bedding is somewhat juvenile but it is bright and cheerful.

I absolutely love my craft room.  We began renovating it in January.  The walls are painted a very soft yellow that is called Vanilla Wafer.  The storage cubes were purchased at Michaels when they were on sale.  We usually purchased two each month. There are 24 cubes on the wall.

The second craft area where the E2 is located has two units on wheels that store most of the specialty 12 by 12 Designer Paper that is purchased as single sheets.  They are sorted by brand name or theme.  My dear hubby made a shelving unit to fit across the top of the units to form a desk.  The wall is only 46 inches wide and it was hard to find a desk that would fit.  The second craft area is perfect for guests and the small white table is on wheels and can be relocated easily.

Please note the envelope on the table....it is 3 stamp sets from CARDZTV Stamps and these new stamps are now available for shipping!  They are awesome and I can't wait for you to see all the cute projects the Design Teams are making with them.

The daybed is actually a gift from one of God's helpers.  I have wanted to purchase a day bed with a nice mattress for quite some time but have been short on funds.  Out of the blue, one of God's angels provided this beautiful daybed as a gift to me.   Dear special friend, (and you know who you are)...thank you so much for helping to make my dream come true.  I have wanted my very own special place in my house for a long time.  I love my little "happy place".

I hope each of  you enjoyed a view of my craft room and like the shadow box.

Rock on!

Happy Thursday!  It is Thursday isn't it?  I have SO many things to be thankful for!  Family, friends, and lots of rain in our neck of the woods!  Beautiful, cool weather too!

I have been on a slight hiatus from crafting lately.  Do you ever lose your mojo?  I have been checking Pinterest, Facebook groups, and Blogger for inspiration.  No luck!

Anyway, I decided to make a card for my son last night and this card came together so quickly.

The guitar is from the Smiley cards cartridge and is cut at 2.75 inches for this A2 size card.  All papers came from the DCWV High School paper stack.  The frame mat is from Elegant Edges, page 38 of the handbook and the shadow and base cut were cut at four inches. On pay 37 is this cute border and I cut it at 3/4 of an inch.  The sentiment is from the CARDZTV STAMPS set called "Snail Mail".

Hope you like my card!  Have a great day!

Hello World!

Surprise! This post is not scrapbook related!!!  Isn't this just the cutest little guy?  The city where I live has approximately 16 months of surface water left due to severe drought.  As a result, we are reducing the amount of water we use as much as possible and praying for rain!

Our yard is pathetic....so this morning I turned the sprinkler on in the back yard to water the trees and bushes.  Imagine my surprise when this little guy showed up to take a bath!

Enjoy!

Proud Military Card

I know many of you who work outside the home will be off work for Independence Day.  Some will celebrate with parties, picnics, boating, or attending concerts.  Watermelon, hot dogs, hamburgers, homemade ice cream are just some of the things that come to my mind when I think of the fourth of July.  And let's not forget the Fireworks!

Commemoration of the Declaration of Independence should be the primary reason for the remembrance of the Fourth of July. My wish is that we teach our children the importance of this day. Our forefathers fought for our FREEDOM for us, our children, grandchildren and beyond.  Thomas Jefferson wrote this sometime between the middle of June and the end of June.

As you watch the fireworks display tomorrow, attend that concert or parade, grill outdoors with family and friends, I ask you to remember...and be grateful we live in such a great Nation.

I am entering this card in the Cut It Up Challenge.
