Splash!

Happy Thursday everyone!  One of my dear friends is going to be spending her vacation in the awesome state of Florida soon.  The weather in Florida this time of year is absolutely wonderful.  Florida has some very beautiful beaches and I can just imagine the snow birds venturing down there for some warm days and relaxation.

I wonder if she will see a mermaid?  Remember the movie..."Splash" with Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah?  Great light hearted comedy!

This A2 size card was made using Everyday Paper Dolls for the mermaid cut at 3 inches, lighthouse and sea gulls cut from the Lifes A Beach cartridge and the turtle was from....whom...anyone's guess?  I can't remember!

The sentiment "Splash" is from Mary at Cardztv's stamp set called Fun in the Sun!  It is a great stamp set for vacation and summer!

Cannot wait to hear about my friend's adventures when she returns!

Safe travels, my friend!

52 Tags in 2012 Week #9

Hello!  I am so happy to announce that I have been selected to be on the 52 Tags in 2012 Design Team sponsored by Janis at Pause Dream Enjoy!!

Woo Hoo!  I am so excited!  I love tags!  Thank you, Janis for this amazing opportunity to share my side of life with all of you!

The theme this week is KITES! Use a KITE die cut, sticker, stamp, or drawing on the front of your tag. On the back write whatever you want about what is going on in your life right now. Or maybe write about a time you remember either flying a kite or watching some kites soar.

My tag is cut at five and a half inches using Tags, Bags, Boxes & More and I used Stampin Up cardstock in Chocolate Chip for the base tag.  Then, I cut a light blue tag and a cream color tag at 5 and a half inches using scrap paper from my stash. I embossed the light blue tag with the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls Embossing Folder.  Then,   I cut the two tags at an angle and adhered them to the brown tag.
The grass is from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and is cut in various sizes from 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch.  I trimmed them and glued them to the tag and trimmed off any excess with my Tim Holtz Scissors.
The cute adorable girl (me when I was little!) was cut from the Paper Doll DressUp cartridge at 3 1/2 inches using the blackout feature so that I could stamp her face with a Peachy Keen Everyday Face Assortment stamp.
The kite was cut at 3 inches from the Pop Up Neighborhood cartridge.  It is Layer 1 and Layer 2 on page 29 of the handbook.  I do not know if any of you have looked at this cartridge...it has a lot of nice accessory images on it.
The sentiment, "Celebrate Spring!" is from Mary at CARDZ TV STAMPS.

I really had a lot of fun making this tag!

Come on over to  Pause Dream Enjoy  and submit your tag! Or, you can submit it at the bottom of this post - whichever is easier for you because it will show up here and on Pause Dream Enjoy. (Oh the internet is a magical place, isn't it? LOL)
