Hello!

Hello!
How is everyone this fine windy day?  (Well, windy here...)

As part of the Cricut Circle membership, we receive 4 cartridges annually.  The Letter Envy cartridge was delivered to my door via FedEx on Saturday so I decided to peruse the handbook and see what interesting things there might be.  Not!  The is probably the one and only time I will use this cartridge.

The phrase "Hello" was cut at 3 1/2 inches for both shadow and regular base cut.  It was very easy to put together and this made a really quick card.  I can see me making a few of these cards for Operation Write Home, an organization that mails cards to soldiers overseas so that they can take those cards, write a quick note, and mail them to their friends and family.

I try to send cards to this worthwhile organization every quarter.

Happy Sunday everyone!  I just love this card, don't you?    This entire card was made with scraps of paper I had in my stash.

I cut the mushrooms at 3 1/4 inches using the Everyday Pop Up cards cartridge.  I do not make pop up cards but I love the images and phrases on this cartridge.  The ladybug and butterfly are K&Co stickers. The sentiment Butterfly kisses and ladybug hugs is actually two stamps from Cardz TV Stamps.  I used the Think Spring Stamp set.  I used them together!  Easy!

I really had fun making this card.  Spring is around the corner!

The prize is one (1) SET of Cardz TV Stamps of the winner's choice!

We have certainly had spring-like weather where I live so I decided to make a Spring card.  The vase and flowers are from Everyday Pop Up Cricut cartridge and cut at 6 1/4 inches for this tall card which measures 4 by 9 inches.  Adorable papers are from Michael's that I purchased for 19 cents per 12 x 12 sheet.  It is double-sided and I love the colors.  I cut the label for the sentiment from Elegant Edges at 1 1/4 inches and then trimmed it to fit.

The sentiment, "Friends are Flowers in the Garden of Life" is from Cardztv Stamps Think Spring Stamp set.  This set is awesome!  There are so many different things you can do with this set.

Venture over the Mary's blog and play along with us.  I cannot wait to see what you create!  Have a happy sunshine day!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Happy Thursday Everyone!  I found this awesome double sided paper at Michael's on sale for 19 cents a sheet....I only purchased one sheet of each and now I wish I have purchased more!  It is by Imaginisce and cut beautifully in the cricut.  One side has mushrooms and the other side has the orange/white polka dots.  On the second sheet, it has the red dots on one side and a bunch of borders on the other side that I will be using later.  I just love a bargain!

The mushroom was cut at 3 1/4 inches for this A2 size card.  Background mushroom paper was cut at 4 by 5 1/4 and layered on top of an orange cardstock base.  For the bottom part of the mushroom, I just cut strips and layered them on top of the mushroom paper.

The sentiment, "Springtime Hugs"  is from Cardztv Stamps Think Spring Stamp set.  This set is awesome!  There are so many different things you can do with this set.

I have several other cards I have made using this versatile stamp set and can't wait to show them to you.
Stay tuned!

Paper Playtime Ch#68

Welcome to my blog! Today starts a brand new challenge over at Paper Playtime! For Ch# 68 make any type of project with a PET theme (or any animal) and make sure you include a sentiment. Funness!

I have a confession to make.  {sigh}  I am not a cat person.  I am a dog person and I have 4 wonderful dogs to entertain and love me.  However, my brother and several of my friends love cats.  My brother's cat has quite an attitude.  Everytime he calls me, his cat does things to get his attention.  This card is in tribute to his cat, Lacey.

Here is my Cat-titude card:

A2 size card (5 1/2" x 4 1/4).
Kitty background paper from Hobby Lobby single sheet.
Paw stamp from a Scrappy Mom's stamp set (I think).
DOODLECHARMS used for CAT cut @ 3".
CAT-titude sentiment stamp from Mary's CARDZ TV STAMPS set Here Kitty.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please come play with us.  I would love to see your pet creation!

Oh Happy Day!

I feel so incredibly blessed.  Blessed with good friends, fairly decent health, a wonderful husband, and my Lord and Savior who loves me in spite of my short comings.  I am also very thankful to have a wonderful neighbor.  Her name is Gloria.  When I moved back to Texas, she and her husband greeted me with a beautiful Welcome basket filled with all kinds of goodies.  She calls to check on me...comes over to visit...and is always so happy and cheerful.

I asked her one day if she would help me organize my closet and I would pay her to help me.  Well, our closet renovation turned into a three day job and I just love my new closet.  She would not accept any money for helping me.  On Valentine's Day, she came over with all kinds of baked goodies in a basket.  She is always so thoughtful.  I am so thankful to have her as my friend.

I made her the above card to thank her and purchased a Lemon Meringue Pie from a local bakery that bakes the most awesome goodies.  She does not have Internet so she will not see this post.  I just wanted to tell you guys about her because I am so thankful to have her in my life.

Do any of you have neighbors like that?  If you do, this post is a tribute to all of the wonderful friends that God brings into our lives to bless us.

Cardz TV Stamps Blog Hop!

Welcome to Cardz TV Stamps I {heart} You Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from  Kate.  The entire hop order is listed after my card details.

Here is my Valentine project for this hop:

Frog is cut from Paisley cartridge @ 3 1/2".  Card base in red is from Recollections.  Background mat is Basic Grey's Cupcake Papers from last year.

The sentiment  "Hugs and Kisses"  is from Mary's Cardz TV Stamps "Hugs and Kisses" set.

The Heart on the frog is also from that same stamp set. I just stamped it in red and then cut it out to put on the frog's belly.  Isn't he adorable?
Papers are from Basic Grey's "Cupcake" set. (Although I will say I was disappointed that these papers have nothing to do with cupcakes - weird.)  I really like the papers...but why would they title the collection "Cupcake"?  (Maybe a man named it!  lol)

And what is a blog hop without a giveaway?  I am giving, to one lucky winner selected by random.org, an ATG Holder as shown below.  It will be unfinished so that you can paint and decorate it to match your craft room.

I have two holders, one for photo safe tape, and one for "general purpose".  They really save so much room on your craft table.  All you have to do is become a follower and leave me some comment love!  Easy peasy. And, if I receive a lot of comments, I will give away TWO ATG holders!

Hope you guys enjoy our hop!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Your next stop is Amanda.  She has made an awesome project and I can't wait for you to see it!

Here is the entire lineup in case you get lost:

Project Details to Create Nifty Fifty Birthday Accordion Album

Thank you all so much for the sweet comments about the birthday mini album I made. Some of you asked for detailed information on how I made it so that you can make one too. Well, ask and you shall receive. Here you go!

First of all, please know that all pattern papers, stickers, and alpha-stickers came from Echo Park's HAPPY DAYS Paper Collection Kit.

Second, every sentiment stamp used is from Mary's CARDZ TV STAMPS set "MAKE A WISH".

The Accordion Mini Album was created by cutting black and white pattern paper to an 8 1/2" x 11" size. Then I cut this in half @ 5 1/2". This gave me 2 equally sized strips measuring 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". I scored and folded each strip in half @ 4 1/4". If you didn't do anything else from here, you will see that what you've got now are two A2 size cards.  But we aren't done yet....

Glue the 2 strips together making the score lines fold in a mountain and valley pattern. This will give you three  5 1/2" x 4 1/4" sections on the front and back.

I'll take you through each section and give you the details on how it was created.

FRONT COVER

Blue chicken wire background paper cut
@ 4" x 5 1/4".
Rock n roll can be cut from any Cricut cart @ 1" or you can use the stickers included in this paper collection kit.
The Jukebox was cut from NIFTY FIFTIES p. 56 cut
@ 3 1/4".

I stamped "Nifty Fifty!" in red using Mary's CARDZ TV STAMP set MAKE A WISH (shown above). The sentiment banner mat was hand cut.

PAGE TWO

White cardstock cut @ 3 3/4" x 5".
The border at the top, banners, "special" arrow, and "sweet" bottle cap are all stickers from the Paper Collection kit.
"50" can be cut from any Cricut cartridge @ 1 1/2" or you can use the number stickers that comes in the Paper Collection kit.
"Birthday Boy" from Mary's MAKE A WISH stamp set.
The red and white cardstock at the bottom was cut to fit flush to the bottom.

PAGE THREE

Red cardstock cut @ 4" x 5 1/4".
Newspaper print (from Collection Kit) cut
@  3 3/4" x 4".
The strip at the bottom is the reverse side of the newspaper print cut
@ 3 3/4" x 1".
Sundae from NIFTY FIFTIES cart p. 41 cut
@ 3 1/2".

The "glass" of this cut was dry embossed with the Cuttlebug and Divine Swirls folder.
Stickles "Crystal" were used on glass for a frosty look.
The pink rim of the glass was embossed with spots and dots folder.
"It's your day!" stamped in red with Mary's MAKE A WISH set. I then used the Stampin' Up Large scallop oval to punch out the sentiment and add it to the bottom.

BACK PAGE FOUR

White cardstock cut @ 4" x 5 1/2".
The border and banner stickers are from the Collection Kit.
Shows cut from NIFTY FIFTIES cart p. 64 cut
@ 3 1/2".

Background for shoes mat dry embossed with Cuttlebug & Swiss Dots folder.
"Party time!" from Mary's MAKE A WISH set.

BACK PAGE FIVE

Red cardstock cut @ 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
Bottle cap paper (from Collection kit)
cut @ 4" x 5 1/4".
Black cardstock cut @ 3 3/4" x 4 7/8".
Red dotted paper with white journaling section is from the Paper Collection kit.
Happy Birthday and Kevin are all stickers from the Paper Collection kit as well as the cake.
"Eat Cake!" from Mary's MAKE A WISH set.

BACK PAGE SIX

Black cardstock used to cut frame. It's actually a frame cut from STAND AND SALUTE p. 47 cut @ 4" with the Blackout feature.
The red cardstock and cellophane (from packaging from any supplies) were both freehand cut to fit the frame.
The newspaper journaling piece is from the Paper Collection kit.
I adhered the cellophane on 3 sides leaving the top open so I could stick in this fifty dollar bill. (Sorry, the money is NOT part of the Paper Collection kit. LOL)

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask when leaving a comment. Also, so that I can answer you, make sure you also leave your email address in your comment.

Happy Sunday!

Ok, so how many of you are going to watch the Super Bowl today?

My DH will be but I will not.  I have a friend coming to see me from New Mexico and I cannot wait!

I decided to make a card and NOT use the Cricut Expression.  I used yellow cardstock for the base, added a red layer, then a K&Co Pattern layer on top of that.  I took some of the pattern paper and cut out the flowers, added pop dots, and wa la!  Instant card!

The sentiment is from
Every Tuesday she offers a new Ruby Tuesday Scripture Verse.

Hope you guys have a great day!

Bitten By The Luv Bug

I found this adorable background paper at a scrapbook store in Roswell, New Mexico.  It is called "Imagine That!" and is an awesome store loaded with all the scrapbook/paper items you could ever imagine. I have spent hours in their store and still have not seen everything they have for sale.

The background paper is basically white with green lines vertically and horizontally and it has little tiny ladybugs scattered periodically throughout the pattern.

Ladybug was cut from the Doodlecharms cartridge at 3 inches.  Red base cardstock is from Recollections. The small red heart was also cut from Doodlecharms at 1/2 inch.

The PERFECT sentiment stamp is from
Mary of CARDZ TV STAMPS.
"Bitten By the Luv Bug!" is from her new "HUGS & KISSES" stamp set!
Go check it out and see all of the awesome stamps. She also has several new sets!

Thanks for stopping by, commenting, and following!

Have A Sunshine Day!

Isn't this card just the cutest?  My friend, Suzanne, came to visit with me this past weekend and we had so much fun!  She recently purchased a Cricut Expression and we spent most of our visit in my craft room, of course!

I showed her some of the Creative Features on the Expression and she decided she wanted to play with the Paper Doll Dressup cartridge.  We had so much fun!

We have had such warm weather where I live so I decided to make this cute little girl in a sun dress.  She was cut at 3.5 inches.  Papers used are from my scrap paper pile that I am trying to use up.  Flowers and grass is from a sticker set by Recollections.

The sentiment, "You Make Me Smile" is from Mary's Cardz TV Stamps! Click Here to see all her stamps she has to offer. I love them!"Good Friends"

I look forward to seeing Suzanne again soon!  We really had a great time.  Besties are the best!
